お気に入りの歌（5）－"Fear a'Bhata (The Boatman)"－ [歌]
先日紹介しました、Clara Sanabrasの"The New Irish Girl"に収録されている2曲のアイリッシュ・ゲール語の歌の内、"Fear a'Bhata"が気になっていました。

報われぬ愛を歌った悲しい歌です。
調べてみると、アイルランドの他、スコットランドでも広く歌われたこの歌が最初に出版されたのは、Henry Whyte’s collection, The Celtic Lyre (Edinburgh, 1898)においてだそうです。
Clara Sanabrasの他、Connie DoverのHPでも試聴できます。編曲によるのでしょうけど、感じがかなり異なって聞こえます。
本日の練習：指ならしに3音のアルペジオの練習、"40 Easy to Early Intermediate Pieces for Renaissance Lute"のNo.15～20、ダウランドの"Sir John Smith, His Almain"、アテニャンのBasse dance "La Magdalena"（Basse Dance, Recoupe, Tourdion）。
一通り練習できました。

お気に入りの歌（4）－"Green Sleeves"－ [歌]
リュート初心者が弾きたい曲の一つが『グリーン・スリーブス』であり、『シチリアーナ』と人気を二分するのではないかと思います。もちろん歌曲としても有名ですね。いかにもイギリスらしい曲です。
検索と掛けてみると面白い記事がいろいろ出てきます。
まず、ヘンリーⅧ世（1491-1547）作曲説。2番目の妻アン・ブーリン（エリザベスⅠ世の母）に求婚を断られた際作ったとするもの。いわゆる伝説ですね。
記録として最初に"Green Sleeves"という文字が登場するのは、1580年出版の"A New Northern Dittye of the Lady Greene Sleeves." だそうです。
歌詞もいろいろあって、ルネッサンスの歌詞として紹介されているものは、

延々と「緑の袖夫人」に対する愛が綴られているのですが、結局は振られてしまうのですね。
その他、クリスマス・キャロル・ヴァージョンもあって、タイトルは"What Child Is This?"となっています。

因みに緑は不倫の愛を象徴する色だそうで、あまりよい意味を持っていないそうです。そう言えば、シューベルトの『美しき水車屋の娘』に「緑のリボンで」という曲がありました。

お気に入りの歌（3）－『アルフォンシーナと海』－ [歌]
作詞Felix Luna、作曲Ariel Ramirezによる『アルフォンシーナと海（サンバ）』は、フォルクローレ形式の歌曲集『アルゼンチンの女たち』の第5曲目にあたる、46歳で入水自殺をして亡くなった女流詩人アルフォンシーナ・ストルニのことを歌った、悲しいまでも美しい曲です。
以前に紹介しました、波多野睦美さんとつのだたかしさんによる同名のＣＤの冒頭に収められていますが、ギタリスト、ホセ・ルイス・ゴンザレスなどによるギター・ソロへの編曲や録音もあります。ギターがよく似合う曲ですが、原曲はピアノですね。

海に入っていったアルフォンシーナのことを歌った歌詞になっています。リフレインの部分は、「アルフォンシ－ナは眠る 海の衣をまとって」で終わります。
波多野さんの歌とつのださんのギターが上手なことは言うまでもありませんが、初めて聴いたときは、曲の美しさに涙が出そうになりました。
本日の練習メニュー：今日は久し振りのレッスンでした。撥弦練習の成果が出たようで、："58 Very Easy Pieces for Renaissance Lute"のNo.1～14まで進みました。これだけでは退屈だろうと、アテニャンの「花咲く頃に」の許可も出ましたので、大手を振って練習ができます。
お気に入りの歌（2）－『あなたがそばにいたら』－ [歌]
『アンナ・マグダレーナ・バッハの音楽帳』といえば、ピアノ初心者が弾く「メヌエット」等、鍵盤楽器のための易しい曲集というイメージがありました。
以前blogで紹介しました、トラジコメディアの同名のCDは、バッハ一家の一日の再現というコンセプトの元、小型のオルガンやリュート、ハープなどで演奏したものです。音楽帳には声楽曲も多く含まれるということを、このCDで知ったのですが、ジョン・ポッターの歌う"Bist du bei mir"が好きで、よく聴きました。

最後まであなたと一緒というロマンチックな？内容だと思うのですが、du=youは主イエスのことであるという訳もあって、宗教色の濃い内容に一転します。
この曲は、BWV508というバッハ作品番号が付いているのですが、Gottfried Heinrich Stölzelの作曲であることが分かっていて、日本で出版されている『アンナ・マグダレーナ・バッハの音楽帳』の曲集にもそう記載されています。
トラジコメディアの演奏の他、グスタフ・レオンハルトのチェンバロを中心に演奏されたCDがあり、エリー・アメリングの歌が聴けます。 "Bist du bei mir"単独なら、森麻季さんの同名のCDがあります。

船に乗っていました師匠も無事お帰りになり、明後日久し振りのレッスンです。先に進むお許しが出ますでしょうか。
お気に入りの歌（1）－『サリー・ガーデン』－ [歌]
ノーベル文学賞を受賞したアイルランドの詩人イェーツ(1865-1939)の詩に、古くから伝わるメロディーが付けられた曲だそうですが、シンプルなメロディとほろ苦い青春の思い出の詩がよくマッチしています。
Down by the sally gardens,
my love and I did meet,
She passed the sally gardens
with little snow-white feet,
She bade me take love easy,
as the leaves grow on the tree.
But I, being young and foolish,
with her did not agree.
In a field, by the river,
my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder

よくある青春の一ページですね。いつか同僚に「この彼女は年上のお姉さんだと思うのだけれど、どう？」と尋ねたことがあります。同僚の返事は忘れましたが、どう考えても彼女の方が精神年齢が上だと思えます。
最初に聴いたのは、波多野睦美さんとつのだたかしさんによる同名のCD（PARDON, TH4830）です。このCDには「イギリスの愛の歌」というサブ・タイトルがつけられていて、『グリーン・スリーブス』や『スカボロー・フェア』など有名な曲が収録されています。これは随分聴きました。
次に聴いたのが、奥村愛さんのヴァイオリンによるもの。本名徹次さん指揮オーケストラ・アンサンブル金沢をバックにヴァイオリンが切なく歌います。このCD（Warner、WPCS-11700）はイギリスものを中心にしたアルバムですが、彼女のCDの中で一番好きなものです。
