先日紹介しました、Clara Sanabrasの"The New Irish Girl"に収録されている2曲のアイリッシュ・ゲール語の歌の内、"Fear a'Bhata"が気になっていました。

報われぬ愛を歌った悲しい歌です。
調べてみると、アイルランドの他、スコットランドでも広く歌われたこの歌が最初に出版されたのは、Henry Whyte’s collection, The Celtic Lyre (Edinburgh, 1898)においてだそうです。
Clara Sanabrasの他、Connie DoverのHPでも試聴できます。編曲によるのでしょうけど、感じがかなり異なって聞こえます。
本日の練習：指ならしに3音のアルペジオの練習、"40 Easy to Early Intermediate Pieces for Renaissance Lute"のNo.15～20、ダウランドの"Sir John Smith, His Almain"、アテニャンのBasse dance "La Magdalena"（Basse Dance, Recoupe, Tourdion）。
一通り練習できました。

こちらで、いろいろなCDに収められた各バージョンの歌詞を見ることができます。
月曜日から一通り練習できると、良いスタートを切れた感じがしますね。
私も今日は一通り練習できました。月曜日だというのにちょっとストレスが軽めです。（＾－＾）

最初はポップスのＣＤかと思いました。
試聴させていただきましたが、不思議な魅力がある曲ですね。

このCDは17～18世紀頃、イギリスやアイルランドで歌われたフォーク・ソングやリュート曲が収められているのですが、古楽という感じはしません。
この歌の伴奏で使われているのはバロック・ギターです。
